Life, looping in its own absurd and peculiar way. Do we actually have the ability to break away from the looping life? Today's post-pandemic life was unexpected yet unprecedented, but will also be remembered by our generation.

人生は常に意外な理不尽をループする。私たちはこのループし続ける人生から抜け出せるか?これは私の記憶だが、同じ世代が経験したパンデミックに対しての共通の記憶だ。

The idea of the story came from my experience during an online class session, in which I have to get up at early for the course the whole semester, and I felt so dizzy one day, unable to tell if it is a dream or not.

この作品のアイディアは、作者自身のオンライン授業の経歴から生まれた。朝早く起きて、寝不足のような毎日が一学期続いた。時々、幻覚は夢みたいだった。


Game Concept

The game intentionally explores digital randomness, capturing and exaggerating the misbehaviors of machines, while also conveying the artist's personal experience as one of many international students stuck with online college education.


Technical Insights

This text-based minigame made by the non-coding game engine Twine consists of 42 story cards and a few other storing parameters. It intentionally explores digital randomness, capturing and exaggerating the misbehaviors of machines.

Googlism was used to generate random item descriptions, and some outputs were then fed into the Travesty Generator and N+7, producing the junk email and a funny description of Zoom. Interview audios of students who also take online college education were put into otterAI for raw and imperfect transcripts. The game includes some paragraphs from the Botnik Predictive Writer, and the Anagram Generator also produced over 240 names for the characters in the game.
